The Heroic Ideal in the Narratives of Gilgamesh and Odysseus

However, Gilgamesh symbolizes a compassionate masculine heroism which is concerned with establishing community, while Odysseus embodies masculine heroic ideals of egotism, activity, wile, and individualism.
