This paper discusses the role of culture and health in society. While accommodating the demands of the vastly different culture of American society of which they are now part, Asian and Pacific Islander parents - especially mothers - also struggle to preserve what is culturally inherent to them, in particular, in child-rearing practices (Johnson & De Hertogh).
